Davis, Johnny

  • You've Got To Crawl To Me

The tragic star of the early days of Bandit, he lead The Arrows until it was clear he was a standout performer. The rest of the group continued to back his recordings (“The Love I See Now” and “Boogedy Boogedy” were issued under both the names Johnny Davis and The Arrows). “You’ve Got To Crawl To Me” is Johnny’s signature performance, an amateur funk workout that displays Johnny’s full vocal range as it pulses along. Although a musical oddity, its unavoidably catchy. His career was tragically silenced by an organized crime hit that was never solved. He was hit by a pipe and thrown off a 12 story building, leaving scarce evidence that he had ever existed at all.
