Willie Williams

Willie "Rough Dried" Williams' 1972 jukebox favorite "Wine Headed Woman" put both Supreme and the drummer on the map. Born in Lake Village, Arkansas, in 1922, Williams baked up Howlin' Wolf with Detroit Jr. before Willie Dixon and Cadillac Baby pulled him into the studio with teams of crack local session men, one of which included Little Mack on harp. The resultant [i]Raw Unpolluted Soul album has little of what its title advertises, but manages to find a funkier moment on the harp-heavy "Detroit Blues."
