The South Suburban Electric Strings

"Sign Of The Zodiac," credited to the South Suburban Electric Strings, was inspired by a David Henderson bass line. When Pegue and the band got into the studio, inspiration struck. After a few tape splices, including an unusual intro resulting from Pegue playing piano chords and then turning the tape around backwards, a track worthy of release had emerged. It became one of Nickel's best sellers, with "Blues For Strings" occupying the B-side, and also turned up on Ernie and Tony Leaner's Toddlin' Town label, the A-side's title expanded more specifically to "Sign Of the Zodiac (Pisces)."
