The Moovers

Made up of Robert Thomas, Woodrow Tucker, Norris Clemmons, Norris Hill, and Jimmy Hartfield, the Moovers were a stalwart vocal group that in some incarnation or another had provided backing vocals for every Clarke-Pearsall production going back to “You Got To Do Your Share.” Their first single “One Little Dance” ended up being the perfect song to dance The Shag to, but its flip is the real gem here. “Someone To Fulfill My Needs” is the Deep City house band marching downhill: Hartfield’s staggering performance is capital, Nathaniel “Snoopy” Dean’s guitar staggering, and Jimmy Harrell’s drumming schizophrenic.
