The Krash Band

A product of Gary, Indiana’s Emerson High School, Lee Holloway termed his senior year outfit Peace a “copy band”—they majored in aping the very late 1960s Motown sound. Around then, and especially around Gary, the Jackson 5 was already dominating national perceptions of Northwest Indiana soul. For guitar player Holloway, live appearances during the early 1970s as a sideman for Vernell Powell gave way to The Krash Band’s formation around himself, bassist Wayne Tatum, and vocalist, sax player, and group “President” Robert “Bobby” Couisnard.
