The Inspirational Souls

Not to be confused with the eponymous group from Los Angeles, the Inspirational Souls were founded in Chicago in 1962 by Deacon Franklin, Mose Butts, Howard Stokes, and Frank Jones. The Group recorded three singles for Gene Cash's labels, one on their own imprint through Gary, Indiana, Bud Pressner Studios, and a 1978 LP on One-Way. The original members who tracked "Soul Couldn't Be Contented" have passed on, but not before passing their name down to younger members who still record today.
