The Combinations

The first release from the Double U stable was undeniably a thoroughbred. "While You Were Gone" is a strong move into Motown territory by the group, latching onto a cheerful optimism not too familiar in Ecorse. Like Many of the other artist. the Combinations had nothing creatively in common with Felton, but geography proved a more crucial connection yet again; George Frazier lived just a few doors down on 18th Avenue. The trio of Frazier, Jimmy Hightower, and Lawrence Perry made up this incarnation of the Cominations that emerged after a pair of Carrie singles. They would later cut records for Master and Stacey, before changing their name to Combination Inc.
