Seven Revelators

Dating back to the early 1950s, the Seven Revelators were a large, co-ed group co-captained by Sister Margaret Scales and Jimmie Lee Scales. Their 1979 session was produced and arranged by Melvin Kenniebrew, an elder statesman of Cleveland gospel via his Sensational Saints as well as a long-time client of Boddie who had rented or bartered studio time for numerous projects. For their second and final Bounty 45, the Seven Revelators’ constantly evolving membership likely included Fannie Blue, Dorothy Spurlock, Lester Phinnessee, Mildred Jones, Hattie Osborne, Lula Nicks, and E. J. Nicks.
