Gospel Ensemble

Reissued as the Goslel Ensembles [sic] with an improved mix (if butchered spelling) on Bounty in 1978, the Gospel Ensemble’s “What You Need” b/w “Book Of Life” first appeared on the Gospel Ensemble label in 1977. Almost nothing is known about the group beyond what was hastily typeset on their Bounty label. “What You Need” is credited to Laura Lee, but the well known “Women’s Love Rights” singer of the same name confirms that the Goslel vocalist must be some other Ms. Lee. The flip featured the equally untraceable Leola Dawson.
