Brother Samuel Cheatham

Samuel Cheatham rose through the ranks of both the Tabernacle Church of Prayer Choir and the Mount Pleasant Choir before self-releasing his first solo work on the Cora label in 1969. The Chuck Bernard-produced 45 sold well enough, leading to a One Way reissue and the subsequent 1977 long player Stranger In The City. A sophomore album followed in the early 1980s on the Gladys label before Brother Samuel left his troubles behind and moved on to the next world.
